Hall 5 is a newly extended single-storey industrial facility comprising 2,250m2 of enclosed hall space located on the grounds of Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. The building houses two Colgar CNC Router machines enabling the client to produce more accurately machined crane components in less time.
The building proportions accommodate the machines contained within. Soft Fabric doors located on opposing gables are fully openable to facilitate crane components of all sizes. A large projection on either end houses the large lattice structure used to support the suspended mockdoor curtain.
During the course of the project Eamon Costello (Kerry) Ltd had to co-ordinate the lift plan involved in cutting free, lifting, re-positioning and re-attaching the entire gable structure housing the door from the original gable location to the newly constructed gable. Significant underpinning to operational gantry crane rails, large scale excavation, and significant concreting works formed part of the civils brief, all to the highest degree of accuracy within, 1mm to correspond with the alignment of the Colgar machine.
